Pro's Corner: Back to Play Checklist

Now that the rinks are opening back up and teams are hitting the ice, take a look at this quick check list to make sure you’re ready to go.

  • Screws, Snaps, Nuts & Bolts

Check that all screws, snaps, nuts, bolts or anything can come apart is checked. Make sure they are tight and replace any missing or broken pieces

  • Straps & Buckles

Check that all straps and buckles are intact and fit properly. If anything is worn, Binnie’s can help with repairs.

  • Laces

Look for wear or broken laces and replace with new if needed. It’s also good to throw an extra pair in your bag.

  • Tape & Wax

Check the tape on your stick for tears and/or dryrot, particularly if your stick has been sitting unused for a while. If you need a new tape job, pick up a few rolls for now and later from Binnie’s along with a new can of wax. Grab one more roll of clear than you think you will need because you know the player next to you will be “borrowing” some!

  • Sharpening

Check over your blades for nicks, worn or rolled edges, or rust. If any of these are apparent, let Binnie’s help you with a fresh set of edges. Not sure what you should get? Check out our #KnowYourEdges quiz.

  • General Equipment Maintenance

As a last look, check over all the rest of your equipment to make sure it is in working order, that there are not cuts, tears, or other issues that could be dangerous or hinder performance. If you need equipment repaired, contact Binnie’s!
